And the rains came tumbling down! Week #44

Hello everyone! As always, another great week here in Thailand. I love this country so much! And there is nothing better than being a missionary.
This week flew by and yet, the beginning of the week feels like forever ago!
So last Monday night we had a Bangkok missionary family home evening to start out zone conference. We got to watch Meet the Mormans! That was fun. We even got popcorn. :) Then the next day was zone conference. I love zone conference. It is so insightful. Sister Senior made this really good comparison between missionary work and the story of David and Goliath. She talked about being prepared. President talked about the doctrine of Christ. So it was a good conference. And then it started pouring rain in the middle. I don't know why, but it is so loud in the chapel when it rains! When the conference was over and we left, the streets were flooded. The traffic was so bad! We thought we would have a little time between zone conference and teaching English but that did not happen. Ha ha
Later in the week we had a miracle happen. Her name is Nay Nay. I don't even know how to begin with this story. Lets just say she called, knew pretty much everything about the gospel (she had downloaded the pamphlets on her ipad) and asked how soon she could get baptized. I have never seen someone understand the gospel as well as her before getting baptized. She is amazing! I guess she has come to church about 5 years ago but the timing wasn't right. But now the timing couldn't have been better because everything went so smooth and perfect and she was baptized on Sunday! She already wants to share the gospel with her family. I guess they live in Japan about 30 minutes away from Tokyo. The missionaries there have tried giving them pass along cards and inviting them to church. She says they aren't interested yet because they are some other kind of religion that has idols (I don't really know). Anyway though, she is just perfect.
This Sunday Elder Kotakom (Sorry I really have no idea how to spell that) from the 70 came to church here in Bang Khae. He gave some instruction on how to work with the branch better and how to help prepare to become a ward. They are really trying to get a Bangkok west stake soon. That means we need to get five wards from the 0 wards we are currently at. But the church is growing here so we just have to keep working hard and before we know it, there will be 5 wards!
Today I want to share the initiative the church is trying to promote for Easter. We are trying to bring others closer to Christ.
Ok I don't know if this is copy and pasteable or what, but I want to invite everyone to watch the video Because He Lives
I want to share my personal testimony that I know Jesus Christ lives. That he did take upon himself our sins. That He is always there for us, all we have to do is turn to Him. Take the time to be closer to Christ this week as Easter is on its way. Reflect on what His resurrection means to you personally.
I love you all! Have a good week!

So we had zone conference this week in Asoke. It rained...

 Trying to catch a taxi.
Some random pictures of the area.

We invited through this market the other day... yum?

I have the most Christlike companion in the world! She is such a good example.

This is me, inside the mall. One of the birds decided to try and escape the other day. It went screaching and flying through the whole mall. Then we saw one of the workers carrying it back while it was just biting his arm!
Our miracle baptism this week! Sister Nay Nay.

Our ZL looks like Joseph smith. Ha ha
